Using the Couchsurfing is great way to spend time in Overseas! Specially in Japan. And today I proved it.
Got up early in the morning but still sleeping so I am staying in the bed. there are two more new people sleeping there. They must came in last night. few minutes later, one guy got up and went out. I thought he is coming back, but it was he last moment. He never came back. After him, the time pasted a bit, then the other new guy got up and went out. He also never came back again. This hostel is so cool people is coming and going just like that. Actually, there is no cooking place here and there price is only 2,000 yen to sleep in a dormitory so it's kind of make sense. Inside of the hostel is cold as well, I don't recommend this place to girls but there is other sleeping rooms so it could be useful.
I am hungry now. Going to the Seven Eleven convenient store for breakfast. Buy a banana and sushi. Now convenient store's sushi is my typical breakfast. Last night I made an appointment with Miku for hanging out. Check the time. We are going to meet at the train station at 12:00 pm. It's 10:15 am now. Going back to the hostel. There is Ajumma. I say hello to him. He is fixing his motorcycle. He said it fell down last night by strong wind. And one side mirror has broken, also sidestand got rusty a bit. He is trying to fix the sidestand. I go to him.
Suggest a sushi, eat together. Having the banana. After he finished eating the triangle sushi, he is struggling to fix it. I want to help him out, but he doesn't want me to help him out. So, I insist hime to help him out. Fixing with squeezed can. Together was right choice. We fixed it in a minute or so. We go in to the hostel. He is preparing his breakfast. I am waiting the time to come. Also I worry about my luggage to be stolen. I mean most of them is fine but not for the macbook pro. I just bought it a month ago or so. So pack it and hide it to a spot in the garage. Now I feel a bit released. Time to go out so go out. My current destination is the station. A few minutes later, I arrive there. There are a few big shopping malls. I should check them out before I meet her. So get inside one of them. Checking them out. Right now I'm not into in buying stuff. So just looking around. In this floor there is 뽑기 machine, there are mother and her child playing a picking machine. I am watching it. Kind of cool to watch it. Because I don't have that kind of experience with my mom at all. Anyway, at the end they didn't get anything from the machine. I am hesitating whether try it out or not. The price is 100 yen for two times. It is kind of reasonable price. So I do that. Yea! I got luck this time. I get one item from the machine. It's chocolate ball like m&m. Having them with looking around.
Go to the window side and watch the building crossed the road. There are people and some of them are playing, jumping and etc. I like that too. So go outside of the building. Cross the road. Get into the building. Go up to the floor.
I see it is play ground for kids. Take some picture and Go out the building. It's all most the time to meet her. So go to the station. There is bus station in front of the train station so go inside of the bus station waiting for a bit. It is about the time so send to her a message. Get a message back from her. She is in the train station. So I tell her that I am inside of the bus station. I go there she is coming and I come back to the bus station. I don't know who she is so messaging her. There is a girl she is wearing a blue coat, and also cute as well. When I send a message she is respond it. I close to her and ask her if she is Miku. She says yes. We introduce each other for a bit and go for lunch as we discuss about today's lunch. There is a local hamburger here which we can eat it only in Hakodate. She knows this place well so I follow her as she goes. We walk a bit, during the way we get to know each other, she is so chilled out and easy going, kind person they are my first impression from her. That first impression wasn't wrong.
A few minutes later we arrive the hamburger restaurant, it is near the harbour. She asks me what I want a standard one so I tell her that I want that and I ask her back, she wants the same one but without drink and pried potatoes. After we ordered, seat next to a window.
Eat the meal with a good conversation. It feels like I know her well from the beginning even it was our first meet. Whatever I says she listen well, I like that haha. And she also have sense of humour as well, well educated, still in University, etc.
Now we are talking about our next destination. She says there is a government office and it's historical. It's called 'Hakodate Magistrate's Office'. she says there is only one place which was built as like star.
We could go up to the tower to check it out the shape but I want to save the entrance fee for the night view on the mountain, so I decide not to go up. It is good to know about the place's history so I can get to know Japan more anyway. So we decide to go there within her lead. She has been doing the couchsurfing for a year and been to almost everywhere in Hakodate, Thank you God! Heading to a tram station to get there. I didn't expect to get on the tram though. Yea, I am in luck today! Waiting for it a bit. A few minutes later the tram is coming. It has the same system as the bus. I take a ticket when I get on the tram and put it in to the machine next to the driver when I get off the tram. Taking a tramp is so classic, as I can see the outside of the tram, I can view the street. I'm one of the Hakodate's people now. After a while, we arrive the destination, thanks to the drive and get off the tram. First of all we enter the Hakodate's tower. In Japan, there is a tower if the city is a bit big, like Sapporo, there is a tower as well, interesting. I haven't mention the weather but there has been strong cold wind since I got out from the hostel.
It has been freezing since at the time and whenever I see some buildings I just want to get in to them without any hesitation at all. Anyway, back to on the track, we are having some rest there for a bit in a hole area. There is concert by a local vocal and it starts in about 15 minutes. She doesn't know him, so he mustn't be a famous person in the city. And next to the hole there is a famous person's statue there, we take picture with him. I don't remember his name now.
Checking the time, it is good to go to the government office, we go there. The weather is still freezing though. I see maple tree and it has perfect red colour leaves on their body. Looks so cool, so I take some pictures there. And keep going to the office. The office's architecture was great in Japanese style.
Enter the building. Entrance fee is 1,280 yen. Looking around building.
Taking some pictures. Their technique for build a building is kind of cool. Now we are out from the office, going to the near the rest building. She orders a cup of tea and I order a corn of ice cream. Eat them with small talk.
After finish them we go for dinner before the night view on the Mt.Hakodate. She knows a good place for dinner so we go there.
Japanese ramen! yeah! Taste delicious with a lot of big ingredients. Having them with joy. Then we finally go to the top of the mountain to see the view.
Take a gondola. As getting closer to the mountain the view is appearing. Pay the ticket, and go up to the top loop. It's still windy. But I don't care and she doesn't seem to care about it at all. Thank you to be with me for tonight again! :)) And after that we go down to the mountain by the gondola. I see some churches on the left side from the gondola. She asks me if I want to visit there for the last spot. I say yes and we go there.
The place is really nice. Russian church, European church and there is another one. Three of them aren't the same religion even though they are in the same area. She says because of the war they got influenced with difference religion at the same time. Now I do understand. But still it is amazing. By the war, now there is lots of things to see and people are coming to see them. I guess no pain, no gain.
After our last sightseeing in Hakodate, I ask her if she wants anything to drink before going back home.
She says yes and she mentions starbucks so we go there. Having the our last conversation.
I don't know how to get to my place so I ask her for help and without hesitation, she shows the lead. I follow her and it's 10:15 pm now. She got things to do tomorrow. Yep, I owe her a lot this time, some day I have to pay her back. I hope I can do that some day. :)
